R290, also known as propane, is a natural hydrocarbon refrigerant that does not contain chlorine atoms in its molecules, so its ODP value is zero and it has no destructive effect on the ozone layer. Compared with HFC substances, R290's GWP value is close to 0 and has almost no effect on the greenhouse effect.
